Breeches Buoy Rescue Drill

Sunday, July 20 during the Maritime Heritage Festival See the Life-Saving Station staff team up with active-duty Coast Guardsmen to demonstrate the breeches buoy, a system that allowed surfmen to rescue shipwreck victims from shore. Demonstration includes firing the Lyle gun, a small cannon, and a rescue from the ''wreck pole''.
